The jewelry is designed and handcrafted by artisans worldwide. Our company uses Fair Trade principles with our foreign partners. Wikipedia describes “fair trade” as a strategic intent to deliberately work with marginalized producers and workers in order to help them move from a position of vulnerability to security and economic self-sufficiency. That is our company’s intent, and the owners assure the standards are being met with personal visits to the places the jewelry is manufactured. I’ve recently returned from our National Conference in Kansas City where I heard a representative from the Bali facility tell us of the sincere appreciation the workers in his facility have for the good working conditions and wages.
